What software do English speakers like to use to write scores these days? Until now I have been using the BZ Byzantina fonts/macros by Mr. Souldatos. I find this method reasonably quick to input the neumes but tedious to manually space out the text.
From what I can tell, the Greek speakers on this forum seem to like Melodos. I did download the demo but I haven’t gotten very far with it due to the difficulty of figuring out how to do things or even what all it is capable of. Is it worth the money and the time & effort for a non-Greek speaker to learn? Does it help with lining up text to neumes? Does it help identify or correct orthographical mistakes?
