...ὁ δὲ γράφων ἀπῆλθε δι᾿ ὀλίγον ἀπὸ τὴν προπαραμονὴ ῾ ς τὴν Βίγλα, ῾ς τὸν Γέροντα Ἰωσήφ, καὶ τελικῶς ἐψάλαμε τὶς Μ. Ὧρες ῾ς τὴν Ἁγία Σκέπη, τὴν δὲ ἀγρυπνίαν ῾ς τὴν πανηγυρίζουσαν Ῥουμανικὴν Σκήτην τοῦ Τ. Προδρόμου, ὅπου λέγαμε δεξιὰ τὰ ἑλληνικὰ καὶ ἀριστερὰ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ τῆς Σκήτης στὰ ῥουμανικά. Καταπληκτικὰ ἦταν κι ἐκεῖ.

Να σημειώσω πως ο π. Πετρώνιος αγιοκατατάχθηκε από το Οικουμενικό Πατριαρχείο στις 31-8-2025.

Διαβάζω (σε αγγλική μετάφραση μέσω Google translation από τα ρουμανικά) :
Thus, during his life as a monk, he collected in a notebook, written by his own hand, many such musical pieces, which attracted him for their musical beauty or for their rarity. This manuscript bears the title Antologhion de cântări psaltice and is located in the old library of the Prodromu hermitage alongside the manuscripts of his predecessors in the Athonite monastic life. I note that Father Petronie's manuscript includes, among others, very old songs, such as: Heavenly Emperor, dated 1289, Our Father… (in medieval style), songs discovered and highlighted by the well-known and reputable musicologist Fr. ID Petrescu with whom he corresponded; Greek Aghioseşti in the old style of songs, probably transposed from pre-Christian or even Cucuzelian notation; then, Slava…, Ziua Învirii…, from Laudele Sfintelor Paşti, voice 5, found in a manuscript in the library of the Prodromu Hermitage; another rarity is the musical piece Anixandare, by Gh. V Cutavas; two Stihiri from Triadicale, from a Greek Ceaslov from the Slatina Monastery; Adam's Song, discovered by Ips. Nestor Vornicescu in a manuscript from the Stehăreţ hermitage, Olt County. But, Father Petronie's manuscript also includes newer songs, translations or personal compositions. The songs in the last category, not being signed, are just my guess, because they have no author or indication of provenance, considering the monastic custom of "hiding one's work well", which leads me to believe that they are personal creations. This guess refers to several songs, such as: the transposition into psaltic notation of the song Împărate ceesc despuți by ID Petrescu, as well as the song Rugăciunea inimii, by Paul Constantinescu; the translation from Greek of the song Lumină lină on the 2nd voice, Axion, voices 6th and 8th; but also personal creations such as: the arrangement of the lyrics of Nichifor Crainic under notes on the stave: Cântecul Potirului; Stihira la așeșarea călăugărului în groapă, voice 8th; Kontakion of St. Hierarch Callinic of Cernica, tone 8; Responses (great at the Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom), tone 1; At the River of Babylon…, tone 6; Now set free…, tone 7;

The manuscript also contains other hymns translated from Greek or in linear notation from the Church Slavonic environment; among these, one from Western culture caught my attention: Salve Regina – Hail, O Empress, transposed into psaltic notation.
