Chanting question

I'm reaching out to you to see if you can help me answer a chanting question. I was practicing this hymn from the εσπερινό. I think the part I have circled is a μεταβολή κατά γένος and I should continue the παραλλαγή using the hard chromatic scale saying Δι instead of Γα. Am I correct? The CD I'm listening to is saying Γα. I appreciate your help!

I think you are right.

You are right. At that point we sing Δι in παραλλαγή (as noted by the small red Δ at the circled part), but that Δι is at the pitch of Γα. Thus you have μεταβολή κατά τόνο and μεταβολή κατά γένος (the second may be a bit subjective depending on whom you ask, both hard and soft chromatic scales belong to chromatic γένος after all).

Mind also the change to diatonic at the word ταφή, the change back to hard chromatic at παρεδόθη, and finally the change back to soft chromatic at αναστάς, where we return the παραλλαγή back to Δι.
