Does anyone know where this recording is from? I have a tape of Stanitsas that says
Th Stanitsas, Ecumenical Patriarchate 1958. Does anyone know more about these recordings?
The tape contains the Doxastika of the Pentecostarion and some chants from the Holy Week and Easter.
Plus the above masterpiece of course.

G. K. Michalakis:Another version by Stanitsas when he was Archon Protopsaltis in the Patriarcheion. Compare this less accentuated, softer-attack chronos (Kallophonikos) to that of the ieropsaltis.com recording, which is made in Athens, and where the chronos is much more puctuated (Chronos for Cheroubikon).

G. K. Michalakis: Lithon by Balasios Ieureus (who was some sort of genius, with SEVEN officia in the Patriarcheion) by Theodoros Vassilikos, who used to sing in the first choirs formed by Thrasyvoulos Stanitsas. This is the best kallophonikos type of Chronos I have heard... at the limits of what is acceptable in terms of loose attacks (especially in the upper notes... when EBX are at their best in slow pieces, they can barely achieve this...)
