D. Koubaroulis: Who is the original composer of this piece? Why does it end on BOY and not on DI (the base of second mode)? The common abridged version by Ioannis Protopsaltis is too long for todays services (see for instance the chopped version done by Ilias Frangoulis above). As a result everyone tries to rush the hymn in order to finish it. What can be done better? Most psaltai seem to interpret this hymn in diplous (double, 2+2) flowing chronos.
