Byzantine Music by word is meant music of the people of Byzantine Empire, although they were called Romans. Current sense is: Orthodox Church's Music, no matter if it performed by non Orthodoxes, i.e. ecumenists, unites etc. More strict definition: Music according to Patriarchal Commision (1981) intervals and rules.
