Dear Colleagues,
I note that Father Ephraim scanned and placed the book <<Neotaton Mousikon Egkolpion>> by Kyriakou Zaxariadou Batopaedinou on the web. I have been looking at it.
Is it the first book of this type for the Liturgy? These books are interesting, because it gives an indication of what compositions the Athonite fathers were using at that time.
In this book for example, the Cherubic hymns of Petros Ephesiou are given prominence, and it seems that KZ must have shortened them slightly.
I also have the book by Nektarios Monachou who published <<Mousikon Thysavros tis Leitourgias>> in 1931, but he does not acknowledge the book by KZ.
