Analytical Compositions

Even the Anastasimatarion of Pringos is pretty analytical, so it got me wondering? Why the tendency to more analytical pieces to the point where almost nobody (in Greek) composes pieces in plain, more classical style? Especially in regards to papadic pieces, where the only really classical ones short enough to chant in Church are Phokaeus and Petros Lampadarios.

The problem is that many modern psaltai do not know how to perform the condensed classical writing. When they perform it, it sounds dull and plain. That's why they prefer the analytical writing.

I guess it surprises me how widespread it is, and how long analytical compositions have been the norm (among new composers).
