Λοιπόν, από τα μέχρι τώρα στοιχεία που συγκέντρωσα η αυθεντική Συκομουριά ΔΕΝ υπάρχει στην Ελλάδα αυτοφυής (=να φυτρώνει μόνη της), μπορεί όμως να υπάρχει σε κάποια φυτώρια ως διακοσμητικό, εάν θέλει κάποιος να το βάλει σε δρόμους ή κήπους. Μπορείς να ρωτήσεις στο Φυτώριο της Πάρνηθας.

Εκτός εάν, όταν λένε συκομουριά εννοούν τον Ψευτοπλάτανο, δες παρακάτω.

Τώρα, για την ονομασία υπάρχει μεγάλο μπέρδεμα, όχι μόνο στην Ελλάδα –πράγμα φυσιολογικό- αλλά και στην ξενόγλωσση βιβλιογραφία. Όλα τα είδη που σού αναφέρω ονομάζονται sycamores:

Από αυτά, το τελευταίο (Acer pseudoplatanus), υπάρχει στην Ελλάδα και φυτρώνει σε υγρά μέρη, φαράγγια, δίπλα σε ποτάμια κλπ, αλλά δεν λέγεται συκομουριά. Είναι ένα είδος σφενδαμιού, λέγεται ψευτοπλάτανος και υπάρχει μόνο στη Βόρεια Ελλάδα και τη Θεσσαλία. Επειδή το ξύλο του μπορεί να χρησιμοποιηθεί για την κατασκευή μουσικών οργάνων, πιθανόν να εννοούν αυτό το δέντρο όταν λένε συκομουριά. Αυτό, δυστυχώς, δεν πρόκειται να το μάθεις ποτέ με ακρίβεια, διότι σε κάθε μέρος της Ελλάδας έχουν άλλη ονομασία για κάθε φυτό.
