“The Genera of the (Hellenic) Byzantine Rhythmopoeia” and Psaltic Subjects
The 4th International Conference is going to be organized by the Institute of Byzantine Musicology, this year, 2009, 8-11 of December, in Athens, always with main theme “Theory and Praxis of the Psaltic Art”.
The convocation of this IV Conference and the composition of its thematic scope are carried out in collaboration with the Federation of the Associations of the Hieropsaltes of Greece (OMSIE), with the organizational support of the Synodic Committee on the Ecclesiastic Art and Music, and with the benediction of the Archbishop of Athens and all Greece Hieronymus.
This 4th Conference, following the three previous, maintains the dual character emphasizing on the musicological and psaltic-artistic aspects. This plan invites all scientists and psaltes-musico-logists and all psaltes-artists to participate and allows the selection of four or five Choirs from Greece and other homodox countries
