Katavasias and Hypakoe for the Nativity

frephraim

Παλαιό Μέλος
I have composed some more music for the Nativity of Christ. The attached file has the rough drafts in Byzantine notation for:
1) The Nativity Katavasias
2) The Iambic Nativity Katavasias
3) The Nativity Hypakoe
I based the melodies on the Heirmologion of Ioannou, and I also borrowed many good melodic lines from Michael Smith's version.

May you all have a blessed Nativity.

in Christ,
+Fr. Ephraim

Someone asked for those katavasias in Western notation, so I have typed them up and attached them to this message.

The Katavasias of the Nativity have now been neatly typed up and posted in our website.

That music in Western notation is available at: http://www.stanthonysmonastery.org/music/Menaion/Finale 2003 - [5325kata].pdf (19 pages)

All the rest of the music for the Nativity in Western notation is still at: http://www.stanthonysmonastery.org/music/Menaion/Finale 2003 - [5325].pdf (72 pages)

All the music for the Nativity (including the Katavasias) in Byzantine notation is available at: http://www.stanthonysmonastery.org/music/Menaion/b5325.pdf (71 pages)
I also included the Hypakoe that is found after the third ode.

May you all have a blessed Nativty.
