These are a bit dated, but nevertheless form a useful source.
And when we speak of Byzantine and post-Byzantine hymnographers is it safe to assume that many (if not most or all?) of them composed the music to their hymns as well? Conventional contemporary wisdom seems to suggest that this is the case. The hymnographer and melodist are one and the same.

However, is the most significant bulk of hymns represented above written within a prosomoia mold where the hymnographer writes hymns within a strict metrical pattern, thus not needing to create a large amount of particular musical settings? Or perhaps not.
