What are they chanting in the very beginning of the video? And where could I find exactly this chanting or something similar in rythm/style? I listened to Simonopetra's recordings but it's not the same... peraps the chanting in the video is from somewhere else.

I also love the chanting in the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmgOQWy9DGY#&t=0m47s

I was told that it's possibly the choir of the church of St. John the Russian in Prokopi, but from the recordings from that church that I've checked on the forum here I didn't find what I was looking for...

Perhaps someone could link me to at least something similar to these two videos?

Thank you in advance!

Dear Феодор, the chant in the beginning of this video is from an old tape recording made at Simonopetra Monastery containing hymns from the Service of Saint Simon, the patron saint of the monastery. Several Athonite monks participated in this recording. More specifically, the hymns in the beginning of the video are from the Kanon of Saint Simon. You can find more information here (listen to track 07).
